• Shallow gold results including 1m at 54.77g/t gold have been received in a 42-hole +2,800m drilling campaign
  • Brightstar says the results illustrate the potential for a modest-scale mining operation
  • Assays for a further 15 holes remain outstanding
  • Early stage JV discussions under way

Special Report: Partial results from a 43 hole +2,800m reverse circulation drilling program at the Link Zone, within the wider Menzies gold project, has returned shallow gold up to 54g/t.

Brightstar Resources (ASX:BTR) latest drilling program kicked off in Q4 2023 to both infill and extend known boundaries of mineralisation across the Link Zone and Aspacia deposits at the Menzies gold project in WA.

The company intends to advance the project towards potential near-term mining opportunities similar to the Selkirk 50:50 mining JV with BML Ventures.

Best results from the latest drilling campaign at the Link Zone include hits of 1m at 54.77g/t gold from 10m, 7m at 3.09g/t gold from 84m and 2m at 4.46g/t gold from 6m.

According to BTR, these intersections continue to illustrate the potential for a modest-scale mining operation ahead of the envisaged large-scale development of BTR’s Menzies and Laverton gold projects.

‘Potential for a shallow, modest open pit mining operation’

“It is pleasing to see the results from the December RC drilling campaign, with 21 out of 27 holes received to date returning significant intersections (> 0.5g/t Au), including shallow mineralisation up to 54g/t gold across the Merriyulah and Golden Dicks deposits,” BTR managing director Alex Rovira says.

“The Link Zone area continues to show potential for a shallow modest open pit mining operation that could be accelerated prior to the bigger-scale development of the Menzies and Laverton gold projects.”

What’s next?

The company is continuing to rapidly advance its suite of projects in 2024, with the diamond drilling under way at Cork Tree Well in Laverton, pre-feasibility study activities continuing and exploration accelerating at Menzies.

Assays for a further 15 holes completed at the Link Zone and 29 holes drilled into the Aspacia deposit remain outstanding and will be reported once received and analysed.

Meanwhile, BTR has commenced early-stage discussions with potential mining JV partners and is independently advancing permitting and approvals to support production activities.
