Mining accommodation developer Decmil gained ground in today’s trade after winning a $13 million contract with resources goliath BHP at its South Flank iron ore project in Western Australia.

Under the deal, Decmil will conduct works for the expansion of the Mulla Mulla accommodation village.

The village expansion is required to support current operations at Mining Area C and support the South Flank project in the north of the State.

Work is expected to begin shortly.

Decmil (ASX:DCG) currently has project teams at several major WA iron ore projects. This contract adds to Decmil’s almost 40 years of experience as a contractor to the sector and a long relationship with BHP’s Iron Ore division.

The news comes after Decmil secured a $21 million contract with Fortescue Metals Group in June to build tug infrastructure and service facilities at FMG’s port facilities at Anderson Point, Port Hedland in Western Australia.

Shares in Decmil were up more than 4 per cent to 96c in early afternoon trade.
