Weekly small cap wrap: Who’s ready for the Grand Final?
News
News
Tomorrow, the last Saturday in September, is the greatest day of the year: AFL Grand Final day. Here in Victoria, we’re even celebrating a public holiday (although your author is still working, ahem).
And for those reading this north of the border, GWS Giants are representing the hopes of all from outside Victoria.

There were two huge winners this week, and then daylight third.
Stavely Minerals (ASX:SVY) +378%
Comfortably the biggest mover this week. Drilling assay results from its Thursday’s Gossan prospect revealed a monstrous shallow, very high grade intersection — 32m at 5.88 per cent copper, 1g/t gold, and 58g/t silver.
But this included a ‘stunning’ 2m intersection grading 40 per cent copper, 3g/t gold and 517g/t silver. Insane stuff. Read more here.
Osteopore (ASX:OSX) +340%
While Stavely has been on the ASX for more than five years to earn its big rise, Osteopore has spent less than a week on the bourse.
The company makes 3D printed body implants that can mesh with body parts post-surgery, and investors piled in, sending shares up to 88c, more than four times their offer price in the IPO. Read more here.
Identitii (ASX:ID8) +104%
It’s not often a non-material announcement causes a share price to double, but that’s exactly what happened in the case of blockchain tech stock Identitii this week.
The company announced that it had been selected by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) as one of just ten companies to test the Consumer Data Right (CDR) ecosystem. The CDR ecosystem will enable Australia’s incoming open banking regime which goes live from February 2020.

ARQ Group (ASX:ARQ) -39%
A revenue downgrade meant ARQ Group was the biggest faller this week. The company was forced to slash its original HY19 revenue target but as much as 45 per cent, thanks to market conditions “softening markedly”.
Its CEO, Martin Mercer, has been given the arse, and will be replaced by Tristan Sternson in the interim while it looks for a new chief executive.
