Weekly ASX Small Cap Wrap: Who’s zapping books to kill COVID this week?
News
News
Some people will do anything to ensure they don’t get COVID — including apparently microwaving public library books.
A library in Michigan in the US has told borrowers to stop microwaving books, noting that library books had security radio frequency identification tags that were made of metal.
And we all know what happens when you microwave metal — well at least most of us do.
Now to this week’s small cap winners and losers.
Metalicity (ASX:MCT) +142%
Gold is a definite draw card these days. But when you hit significant gold mineralisation in 10 out of 11 drill holes, people tend to sit up and take notice.
This led to Metalicity topping the charts for small cap companies this week, with drilling at its Kookynie project returning a top hit of 4m at 16.3 grams per tonne gold from 42m.
Metalicity says the results highlighted the potential for the project to be a prolific, open pittable gold mine.
And there are more results on the way. Assays from the 33 holes over the Leipold and McTavish prospects are due for release in the coming weeks.
Nex Metal Exploration (ASX:NME) +121%
Nipping at Metalicity’s heels is Nex Metal Exploration, which made gains because well sharing is caring isn’t it?
After all, Nex Metals holds the Kookynie project that Metalicity is earning a 51 per cent in.

Red 5 (ASX:RED) -40%
Investors do not seem especially keen about Red 5’s planned Darlot Mining Hub after the company said it would produce between 90,000 and 98,000oz of gold at an average all-in sustaining cost of between $1,830 and $2,030 per ounce.
