Weekly ASX small cap wrap: Who’s ordering up a storm this week?

With the lockdowns and restrictions in place to check the spread of the COVID-19 virus, online ordering has enjoyed some pretty significant growth.

However, a story has emerged from the UK that serves as a reminder to keep your smartphones locked down properly.

The BBC reported that a family had to stomach a rather hefty Deliveroo order for onions that came up to almost £20 ($38.84).

Turns out that their one-year-old toddle accidentally ordered £1.50 worth of onions while playing with her father’s phone.

This little order attracted a small order fee that brought the bill up to £19.99.

However, the somewhat expensive onions didn’t go to waste with the parents saying that they made a nice curry with them.

Jupiter Energy (ASX:JPR) +3650%

Just last week, we pointed out an opportunity to make more than 10 times your money and we thought that was a pretty sweet deal – assuming of course that you had actually bought shares in that company before its meteoric rise.

Well, we have now topped that with a 35-bagger with the same proviso.

Kazakhstan-focused oil producer Jupiter has powered its way against the tide drowning oil and gas companies – thanks to a huge fall in oil price – after securing a more attractive prepayment proposal from a local trader last week.

It said the new contract and further cost cutting measures would enable production from the Akkar North and West Zhetybai oil fields to continue.

Coppermoly Limited (ASX:COY) +120%

Who knew that the simple act of defining drill targets would make such an impact on a company’s share price?

If there was a memo about it, it is clear that Coppermoly didn’t receive it as its shares made some significant gains after it completed ground geophysical surveys that identified copper-zinc drill targets at its Mt Nakru project in Papua New Guinea.

The surveys complement the results from the recent trenching program, which discovered high-grade copper-zinc mineralisation at the Nakru 2 Northwest and Nakru 3 prospects.

ASX SMALL CAP LOSERS

Unsurprisingly, oil and gas companies made up a significant percentage of the biggest small cap losers this week.

IPB Petroleum (ASX:IPB) and Galilee Energy (ASX:GLL) saw their shares fall 42 per cent and 39 per cent respectively.
