Weekly ASX small cap wrap: Who still has some meat on the bones?

With the market panicking over fears the COVID-19 virus could become a global pandemic, it might be time to find your happy place – for some that might be chowing down on some crunchy bacon.
In the US, fast food chain Dunkin’ – better known for its donuts – has released its latest snack for meat lovers, a neat package of eight half-strips of smokey bacon with a sweet and savoury seasoning.
It might put you into a food coma, but it seems like a small price to pay to escape the bloodbath happening on global markets today. the ASX Small Ords slumped 3.9 per cent certainly sounds like a much safer option than the usual method of doing involving certain liquids.
While the market has been in the doldrums this week — the ASX Small Ords slumped 3.9 per cent — here are some of the small cap movers.
ASX SMALL CAP WINNERS
Taking second spot on our list of small cap gainers is Alto Metals, after step-out drilling at the Standstone gold project in Western Australia intersected a new shallow gold lode about 200m south of the historical Lord Nelson open pit.
The program returned a top hit of 24m at 3.7g/t gold from 104m with the company saying that the mineralisation style and geological setting of the new lode is identical to that of the Lord Nelson deposit.
Drilling is ongoing and the company is planning to carry out deeper drilling to test down dip and plunge of known mineralisation in the fresh rock to 300m below the open pit.
Investors were understandably pleased after IT play PS&C reported revenue of $26.1m and gross profit of nearly $4.5m for the first half ended December 31, 2019.
The company attributed the result to new client wins.
