Weekly ASX small cap wrap: Who looked damn sexy this week?

Here are this week’s small cap winners and losers. With GIFs.
Market Cap $185m
Legend has always drawn comparisons to fellow Mark Creasy-backed legend Sirius – which famously went from ~struggling $5m explorer to $1.8 billion takeover target on the back of its Nova nickel discovery in the Fraser Range.
Those comparisons intensified in early December as whispers of a new, Nova-style discovery gained traction.
On Monday the intercept was confirmed — 2.1m grading 2.03 per cent nickel, 1.34 percent copper and 0.11 per cent cobalt from 115.5m – and the stock went for a massive run.
“The 2.1m high-grade intercept within a 14.9m sulphide zone is within a 70m disseminated sulphide halo and has all the hallmarks of a large mineralised system,” Legend boss Mark Wilson says.
Market Cap: $53m
Bug killer Bio-Gene has made a breakthrough in the fight against disease-carrying mozzie populations – the type which happen to be resistant to current insecticides.
Combined with previous trial work, Bio-Gene has now shown its ‘Flavocide’ product works against resistant populations of the major mosquito species that carry killer diseases like malaria, zika virus, and dengue fever.
Investors liked the news, sending the stock up 53 per cent for the week, and ~125 per cent year-to-date.
Market Cap: $17m
Authentication/anti-counterfeit tech company Dotz Nano has a new, high-profile chairman – former Woolworths and Myer exec Bernie Brookes.
Investors love a star appointment – the small cap stock jumped 45 per cent for the week, paring some of the losses suffered over the past 12 months.
Market Cap: $169m
Goat milk products producer Nuchev enjoyed an unforgoatable (sorry) first week trading on the ASX.
Hitting the boards Monday with a $117m market cap, Nuchev charged through to finish up a tidy 45 per cent.
Goat milk is popular, apparently. Who would’ve thought?

Over the past four months Redbubble (ASX:RBL) shares have been on a tear – nearly hitting $2 – before a trading update dampened spirits Thursday morning.
Redbubble, which serves independent artists, says the company’s marketplace was growing — but at only 2 per cent year-on-year which is “below expectations”.
That has sent the stock plummeting 46 per cent to $1.01 per share. Ouch.
