Weekly ASX small cap wrap: who hit it out of the ballpark this week
News
It was another good week for a handful of junior miners.
Renegade Exploration (ASX:RNX) led the charge up with a gain of 67 per cent since the start of the week despite having nothing new to report.
The company, which closed at 0.5c on Frday, is on the hunt for gold and base metals in Australia and Canada.
Hipo Resources (ASX:HIP) also advanced this week, with its share price climbing 50 per cent to 1.8c, also on no news.
Other resources gainers included Colombia-focused gold explorer Metminco (ASX:MNC), which rose 50 per cent to 0.3c, and iron ore and gold explorer Mindax (ASX:MDX), which added 45.5 per cent to close the week out at 1.6c.
State Gas (ASX:GAS) had a win this week after receiving better-than-expected results from recent drilling of the Nyanda-4 coal seam gas and conventional gas well at its Reids Dome project in Queensland.
The company, which also now fully controls the Reids Dome project, was planning to plug and abandon the well, but has now suspended it for future re-entry and further testing.
State Gas ended the week up 42 per cent at 54c.
Investors were loving cyber threat detector WhiteHawk (ASX:WHK) this week after it locked in a $US400,000 ($553,148) contract with an unnamed US “top 12” defense industrial base company with annual revenue of over $5 billion.
The company closed Friday up 30 per cent at 6.5c.
Ultracharge (ASX:UTR) jumped 25 per cent to close the week out at 1c after the battery maker secured its second-ever order for scooter batteries.
Israeli scooter company Roadix has contracted Ultracharge — a cobalt-free lithium battery maker — to deliver 16,000 batteries over three years.

Incentives and digital payment provider IncentiaPay (ASX:INP) was this week’s biggest loser, with shares tanking 68 per cent to 2.6c.
Investors were scared off when the company explained it “no longer expects to deliver” underlying earnings before interest tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of between $3m and $5m for FY19.
Troubled IncentiaPay couldn’t say what it expected to earn.
Sipa Resources (ASX:SRI) bore the brunt of investor’s frustrations over a lack of significant copper and gold in recent drilling right near Rio Tinto’s rumoured big discovery in the Paterson province of Western Australia.
Shares slumped 20 per cent over the week to finish at 0.8c.
Lake Resources (ASX:LKE) was down over 17 per cent at 9.5c.
But long-term investors can take comfort in the fact that the lithium miner is just one of a handful of small cap resources players that have advanced over 1000 per cent in the last five years.
