ASX Small Cap Winners Jun 8-15

Bosnia-focused Adriatic Metals (ASX:ADT) more than doubled this week after positive results from initial drilling at its Vares project in Bosnia & Herzegovina.

The shares jumped 110 per cent to close at 41c on Friday.

Drilling had delivered a “combination of highest grade and thickest intercept to-date” including 64 metres at 4.6 grams of gold per tonne, 537g/t of silver and 10.8% of zinc.

Adriatic’s CEO Geraint Harris said the “exciting” results were “some of the highest grade polymetallic results on the ASX” and “had the potential to add significant tonnes to any future resource”.

Loss-making web developer Asia Pacific Digital (ASX:DIG) also doubled this week after a takeover offer from newly listed marketing agency Trimantium GrowthOps (ASX:TGO).

The shares climbed 103 per cent to 12c — though that’s well down on the 45c they were fetching in late 2016.

Asia Pacific Digital had been looking for a suitor since losing its major client Ford which it said in February had “negatively affected four consecutive reporting periods”.

Trimantium (ASX:TGO) has made a $20 million all-scrip takeover bid.

3D printer maker Robo 3D (ASX:RBO) jumped after buying a US eduction outfit that supplies 3D printable kits designed for schools.

Robo 3D will pay the owners of MyStemKits $US2 million ($2.6 million) in a cash and scrip deal.

The shares soared 68 per cent after the deal and settled up 41 per cent for the week at 3.1c — though still well down on their one-year high of 7.2c.

Robo 3D reckons the education market is a great distribution channels for its printers.

Though investors might recall that strategy didn’t work too well for another ASX-listed 3D printer stock, 333D — which now makes bobbleheads.

Jindalee Resources (ASX:JRL) gained 55 per cent to 32.5c for the week after adding a second project to its US lithium portfolio.

Jindalee staked a claim on a 19.6 sq km plot of land on the border of Nevada and Oregon, following an earlier acquisition.

The projects were acquired for the cost of field work, staking and filing the relevant claims, Jindalee said.

Jindalee compared the area’s lithium-bearing clays to Lithium America’s (TSX:LAC) “Thacker Pass” project 30km south which recently reported a resource of 532.7 metric tonnes at 2921 parts per million of lithium.

Power supply maker Rectifier Technologies (ASX:RFT) put on 52 per cent after winning a $US5 million order from Brisbane-based Tritium which makes fast chargers for electric vehicles.

Tritium bought power supply units for electric vehicle charging. The orders are due to be delivered in 2018 and are binding purchase orders.

More orders are expected, Rectifer said.

Baraka Energy (ASX:BKP) doubled to 0.4c for the week after a group of shareholders moved to turn over the board.

Baraka said shareholders representing 5.19 per cent of the register asked for a general meeting to replace three directors. The meeting is due within two months.

Drone-killer Droneshield (ASX: DRO) shot up 22 per cent this week after winning its first multi-million dollar order, selling 70 of its Dronegun tactical jammers to an undisclosed Middle Eastern country for $3.2 million.

Droneshield says it’s the biggest known order ever placed for anti-drone equipment globally.

It’s certainly the biggest deal the company has inked so far, having received just $35,780 in cash receipts from customers last quarter despite highlighting a $100 million “pipeline” as far back as October.

ASX Small Cap Losers Jun 8-15

Graphite explorer Battery Minerals (ASX:BAT) lost $US30 million of funding — and 28 per cent of its share price value — after a private equity mining investor pulled out because “the graphite market no longer meets its investment criteria”.

Private equity investor Resource Capital Funds, which specialises in mining investments around the world, had only last month agreed to help fund the project in Mozambique.

The shares finished down 28 per cent for the week at 3.5c.
