Good morning, and welcome to Stockhead’s Top 10 at shortly-before-11-ish, which is meant to highlight the best (and sometimes worst) performing ASX stocks in morning trade using live data, to provide a short, sharp update to help frame the trading day by showing the biggest movers in percentage terms that have made announcements.

The market opens at 10am (eastern time) and the data is taken at 10:15am, once every ASX stock has started trading.

Briefly, here’s what’s been happening already this morning: Local markets have opened higher this morning, with a 0.3% jump out of the gate led by a strong early showing from Resources and gold stocks. However, Utilities was lagging in the opening minutes of the session.

Charger Metals (ASX:CHR) was rising quickly on Thursday morning, after the company announced good news among first assay results from exploration at its Lake Johnston lithium project in Western Australia. Charger says assays results for the first two drill-holes have confirmed the discovery of spodumene-bearing pegmatites at depth, with an intercept of 18m @ 1.46% Li2O from 134m the highlight.

Australasian Metals (ASX:A8G) was also up on early exploration work news, with results back from surface / rock chip sampling at its Dingo Hole highly pure quartz project, 300km southeast of Tennant Creek. A8G says the lab work confirmed the samples had low levels of deleterious elements and an average silica content of 99.95% SiO2 after preliminary acid leaching.
