Top 10 at 11: ASX edges higher, as does Bitcoin and digital assets firm 333D

Morning, and welcome to Stockhead’s Top 10 (at 11… ish), highlighting the movers and shakers on the ASX in early-doors trading.

With the market opening at 10am sharp eastern time, the data is taken at 10.15am in the east, once trading kicks off in earnest.

In brief, this is what the market has been up to this morning.

ASX opens higher

The ASX is up 0.75% in morning trade after being down much of the week, following Wall Street’s record-breaking session and growing optimism for a US Federal Reserve rate cut next week.

The Dow jumped 1.4% to close above 46,000 for the first time, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq each gained nearly 1% to fresh all-time highs.

US 10-year bond yields fell to 4.02% as traders also weighed the European Central Bank decision to hold rates steady against the impact of US tariffs on European growth and inflation.

Safe haven gold is slightly down to $US3673 an ounce. Brent crude is near $US66 a barrel, WTI at $US62, and iron ore slipped to $US105.45 a tonne in Singapore.

Bitcoin is changing hands for about $US114,400, while the Aussie dollar is near US66.58c.

In the news…

Digital assets company 333D (ASX:T3D) is up an impressive 115% in morning trade on no new announcement. The company is up 2500% in the past month and 255% in the past week.

On Tuesday 333D responded to an ASX price query, saying it is not aware of any undisclosed information that would explain the recent spike in its share price and trading volumes. The company noted its recent return to trading and Bitcoin strategy update may have lifted investor interest.

The company in August announced plans to channel all excess cash into Bitcoin as a strategic reserve, taking its first step by converting $370,500 into 2.018 BTC.

The move positions 333D among a small group of ASX-listed companies adopting Bitcoin as a long-term store of value rather than a speculative asset.
