Good morning (just), and welcome to Stockhead’s Top 10 at shortly-after-11-ish, which is meant to highlight the best (and sometimes worst) performing ASX stocks in morning trade using live data, to provide a short, sharp update to help frame the trading day by showing the biggest movers in percentage terms that have made announcements.

The market opens at 10am (eastern time) and the data is taken as early as we can grab it, once every ASX stock has started trading – for better or worse – and then we do our best to make sense of who’s moving where and why it might be happening.

Anyway… here’s what’s been happening since the doors were opened this morning. The ASX opened higher today, with the benchmark pulling back just a tad by 0.08% at the time of tapping on keys. The Telco and Financials sectors are in decent form, although the Materials/Resources bunch have taken a hit after a strong Monday.

DGR Global (ASX:DGR) Resources company creator DGR has shot up 256% in early trade and would normally be at risk for a speeding ticket if it wasn’t for SolGold’s whopping US$750m for the development of its Cascabel copper-gold project in Ecuador.

Why? Because DGR has a 6.8% stake in the once Aussie but now London/Canada-listed miner, which is running hot up in the markets with Cascabel since a PFS released in February gave it an NPV of US$3.2bn, making it Ecuador’s biggest mining investment ever.

The cash injection into SolGold equates to about 47.5% of the pre-production capital investment required for mine construction, the plant module and related project infrastrcuture.

We have another Tuesday-morning speeder, and it’s MCS Services (ASX:MSG), presently up a whopping 300% at the time of just about pushing this one out the door.

What’s this, then? It’s a company specialising in providing uniformed security and traffic management services to various sectors in Western Australia and other states.

Why on earth has it surged so? This thing is an absolute minnow, so it doesn’t take much to move the needle. Judging by its last announcement of import, however, the company recently advised “settlement of  of the sale of its 100% share interest in the MCS Security Group Pty Ltd subsidiary to Vibrant Services Limited”. Make of that what you will.
