Drilling has hit super high rare earths grades in clay up to 1.26% (12,611ppm) at Larvotto Resources (ASX:LRV) Merivale South prospect in WA.

“It is the company’s belief that the mineralisation is hosted within ionic clays, making them suitable for simple, cost-effective extraction,” LRV says.

Ionic clay deposits often grade between 700ppm and 1500ppm TREO.

More ‘bumper’ REE grades at OD6 Metals’ (ASX:OD6) Splinter Rock project, where drilling hit grades up to 6605ppm “with extensive clay thickness of between 20 and 80m at consistently high grades”.

And Viking Mines (ASX:VKA) is celebrating thick high grade vanadium results in maiden drilling at the Canegrass project, including a highlight 12m at 1.06% V2O5 from 91m.

This is significantly higher (>150%) than the average Canegrass Inferred (JORC 2012) Mineral Resource grade of 0.64% V2O5.
