The day ahead
As a consumption-led slowdown continues to put the brakes on the Australian economy, markets will get an update on sentiment among Aussie households this morning with the release of Westpac’s monthly consumer confidence index.
Looking abroad there’s Chinese inflation data for June during Asian trade, then key events overnight will be led by the release of the minutes from the US Fed’s June meeting. US Fed Chair Jerome Powell will also make his bi-annual testimony to Congress.
