It’s a quiet one on the data front in Australia to end the week.

Looking abroad, Japan has May inflation data and there’s a raft of preliminary PMI readings (manufacturing and services) for June across Japan, Europe, the US and UK.

What got you talking yesterday

Over on the Stockhead Facebook group chat, member Kevin Sharpe chimed in on Rachel Williamson’s coverage of Botanix (ASX:BOT), which says one of its cannabis formulations can kill superbugs.

“This has huge potential, and I think this was an unanticipated finding from the 3 trials they’re running for psoriasis, dermatitis and acne – all of which are looking good even though early stages,” Sharpe said.

Yesterday’s winners

Speaking of Botanix, markets reacted positively to the company update as BOT stock closed 46.43 per cent higher.

Also performing strongly was Legacy Iron Ore (ASX: LCY), which doubled up to 0.4 cents two days after exploration drilling will commence this week at its Mt Bevan nickel project.

Orion Metals (ASX: ORM) was the other stock to post a 100 per cent gain, climbing to two cents per share after releasing its annual report and quarterly cashflow numbers.
