A trading update from ~$1bn biotech Polynovo (ASX:PNV) got the crowd excited, after the medical devices company reported strong conditions at its US operations. The company increased its quantum of sales accounts in the US to 154, and monthly sales for Novosorb — its patented bioabsorbable polymer technology — rose above US$2m for the first time in December.

Cybersecurity firm Vortiv (ASX:VOR) also gained ground. Its India-based subsidiary Transaction Solutions International is on track to book EBITDA of $9.5m – $10.5m in FY22. Spicy.

The biggest faller on making an announcement was Mt Malcom Mines (ASX:M2M), which underwhelmed with news of “shallow mineralisation” at Golden Crown. The best it could come up with was 1m @ 7.06g/t Au from 34-35m and 4m @ 2.99g/t from 28.32m.

We’ve seen worse, but shares dropped 13.79% to 0.125. You’re a picky lot.
