THE WEEK AHEAD

All eyes will be on Canberra on Tuesday night, when Treasurer Josh Frydenberg hands down the federal budget.

The government is “expected to make use of the much better than anticipated conditions Australia is experiencing, to provide further support for the economy in pursuit of full employment”, Westpac said.

Plenty of speakers from the US Federal Reserve will also be on deck this week, including vice chair Richard Clarida who will discuss the US economic outlook on Wednesday night.

That follows a big miss in US employment data last Friday night, with the economy adding 266,000 jobs against a forecast of 1 million.
