The day ahead
It’s a quiet one on the local data front, with manufacturing and industrial production figures out of Japan during Asian trade.
Markets are reacting to early exit polls which indicate a big win for Boris Johnson’s Conservative Party in the UK election. The Aussie dollar has fallen to its lowest level against the UK pound since the Brexit referendum in 2016.
Later on, the US has November retail sales data and Federal Reserve committee member John Williams will give a speech on monetary policy.
