Rise and Shine: What you need to know before the ASX opens

But first here’s what you need to know.
The day ahead
There’s no economic data due out in Australia today although New Zealand’s quarterly retail sales will be released — which is a significant market for several ASX small caps.
Over the weekend, investors will be watching the Jackson Hole symposium and the speeches the world’s central bankers will deliver.
Among today’s small cap earnings are neo-lender Resimac (ASX:RMC), bug-killer Next Science (ASX:NXS) and Perseus Mining (ASX:PRU).

The ASX rebounded yesterday from Wednesday’s decline. The ASX Small Ords gained 0.16 per cent, closing at 2,820 points while the ASX 200 gained 0.29 per cent, closing at 6,502 points.
