GOING UP

Nigeria-focused zinc and lead explorer Symbol Mining (ASX:SL1) went flying today after winning final government approval for a mining lease at its Macy Project.

“Full scale mining operations are now underway,” Symbol told investors this morning.

The shares soared 45 per cent to an intraday high of 4.2c before cooling to 4c by 1.20pm AEST. About $1.3 million worth changed hands.

Business intelligence analysti Sentia (ASX:ISD) gained 18 per cent to an intraday high of 83c today after finally announcing it’s found a new CEO.

Yahoo7’s CEO Ed Harrison will join the company.

But on the same day the company had to issue the news that its chief financial officer, James Orlando, quit after only a year in the gig.

The shares were at 80c at 1.20pm AEST.

Lithium developer Anson Resources (ASX:ASN) put on 26 per cent to 12c following a Wednesday update that it had  received “further encouraging results” while fast-tracking Paradox project in Utah.

Former aquaculture player Cervantes (ASX:CVS) gained 33 per cent to an intraday high of 1.6c after confirming on Thursday that its purchase of the Paynes Find Gold Project from European Lithium (ASX:EUR) had been finalised.

Last month former aquaculture player Cervantes literally struck gold in Western Australia – and high-grade gold at that – sending its shares through the roof.

Healthcare software maker Alcidion Group (ASX:ALC) moved ahead 12 per cent to 5.8c after signing a deal with ACT Health worth $4.75 million.

GOING DOWN

Kogi Iron shares (ASX:KFE) shares fell after a group of shareholders that had been angling for control of the Nigeria-focused iron ore play gave up on their attempt to spill the board.

The group’s shareholding has now dropped below the 5 per cent level that makes it a substantial shareholder.

This means the group also no longer has the ability to demand Kogi call a spill meeting.

Kogi shares fell 18 per cent to a low of 13.5c but recovered to 14.5c by 1.30pm AEST.
