GOING UP
Alligator Energy (ASX:AGE) was the most heavily traded small cap this morning with 35 million shares changing hands for about $280,000.
The uranium and battery metal explorer told investors it had closed off a $1.75 million capital raising at 0.7c with institutions and wealthy investors to fund drilling at its TCC4 uranium prospect in the Northern Territory.
The shares rose 50 per cent to an intraday high of 0.9c.
“With the recent increased interest in the uranium market and uranium equities, and the excess demand from the recent rights issue, the board determined it was the right time to re-capitalise the company to enable drilling of our primary uranium target during this dry season and as a fully owned project,” the company told investors.
Latrobe Magnesium (ASX:LMG) jumped 43 per cent to an intraday high of 0.01c after reporting “strong progress” over the past two months tweaking its magnesium furnace.
Latrobe is developing a magnesium plant in Victoria’s Latrobe Valley and another plant in Germany using a “world-first patented extraction process”. It plans to extract magnesium metal and other mateial from fly ash — a waste product from brown coal power generation.
The plant is expected to be commissioning by the end of August.
About 6.5 million shares changed hands this morning for $60,000.
Jameson Resources (ASX:JAL) moved ahead 28 per cent to 16c after winning a $4 million investment from fellow coal miner Bathurst Resources (ASX:BRL) to advance its Canadian Crown Mountain coking coal project.
Down the track Bathurst has an option to fund up to $120 million, moving to 50-50 ownership if the project goes forward.
“This agreement addresses the largest financial obstacle to the development of Crown Mountain: funding construction,” investors were told.
Infant formula play Wattle Health (ASX:WHA) made strong gains after signing a $34 million deal to deliver milk to Chinese state-owned enterprise Shandong Weihai.
Wattle will deliver $6.6 million worth of its cow milk formula to Shandong over 12 months. The deal is for at least three years, with $16.5 million worth of orders scheduled for 2022.
Investors applauded the deal, pushing the shares up 25 per cent to an intraday high of $1.11 with $3.4 million of shares changing hands.
That’s well down on their 12-month high of $2.65 in February though.
Australian Whisky (ASX:AWY) finally won shareholder approval for its takeover of Lark Distillery, driving the stock up 15 per cent to 4.7c by 12.30pm AEST.
Aus Whisky has been hunting Lark since the end of 2016.
