Here are the key ASX small cap winners and losers at lunchtime Wednesday June 27.

The ASX Small Ords remained flat for the first couple of hours, up just 0.06 per cent or 1.8 points to 2880 at 12.30pm AEST.

Popular lithium stock AVZ Minerals (ASX:AVZ) was one of the most active on the ASX this morning, with 26 million shares changing hands by 11.30am after news well-known mining identity Klaus Eckhof had quit his role as executive chairman.

The move comes close on the heels of Mr Eckhof’s sale of more than half his stake in the lithium explorer.

The AVZ share price tumbled 42 per cent on news of the share sale earlier this month. The share price was up as much as 10 per cent at the start of trade to an intraday high of 9.2c by 11:30am.

GOING UP

Solar-power glass maker ClearVue Technologies (ASX:CPV) started its morning up 24 per cent, hitting an intraday high of 15.5c by 11.45am.

The stock — which is still below its 20c issue price since listing in May — told investors it had achieved a breakthrough in development, building a “frame-independent” insulated glass unit.

In previous designs, ClearVue’s glass product captured solar in photo-voltaic cells around the edge of a window frame, then converted these to energy.

In the new model, it can now capture solar energy through the glass unit itself without the need for the frame.

Brand protector YPB Group (ASX:YPB) saw an intraday high of 2.7c, up 17 per cent after the company announced a deal with Canadian business Namaste Technologies, known as the “Amazon of the medical cannabis industry”.

YPB will allow Namaste to use its brand protection technologies so that consumers can verify the authenticity of cannabis products distributed through Namaste.

Meanwhile, business Anteo Diagnostics (ASX:ADO) was also up by 29 per cent in early trade, hitting an intraday high of 1.8c by lunchtime.

Yesterday the business gave a brief update on progress of its batteries and diagnostics projects and promised to update investors more comprehensively at a series of presentations in July.

Gold miner Laneway Resources (ASX:LNY) also gained 50 per cent for the morning to 0.3c off no news.
