Lunchtime ASX small cap wrap: Who’s wondering what the ruling on that is today?

Snakes are not always dangerous but they are still a shock when they pop up when you don’t expect them – as these Queenslanders found out this week.

Brisbane Snake Catchers had some useful advice:

“Make sure you check your pool table pockets before sticking your hand in.”

This specific snake, being a carpet python was harmless but… it’s better safe than sorry.

After passing through 3,000 yesterday the ASX Small Ords has lost 0.66 per cent, falling to 2,978. The ASX 200 is down 0.35 per cent to 6,794.

There’s been no significant economic news today but next week will be another big week. The most important will be inflation and private sector credit on Wednesday.

Going up

The biggest gainer was sandstone exporter Chongherr Investments (ASX: CDH) which rose up 333 per cent off the back of no news.

Connexion Telematics’ (ASX: CXZ) quarterly has sent it up 83 per cent today. It reported $1.7 million in total revenue and that its subscription base was consistently above the company’s predictions.

Shareholders of Focus Minerals (ASX: FML) had a happy Monday when it reported high value gold intersections. But today, despite having no news, it has lost 15 per cent.
