Fans of Michael Fox’s Back to the Future II may remember hoverboards and wanted one. Well, dreams are finally a reality.
Only three weeks after a previous failed attempt, Frenchman Franky Zapata crossed the English Channel with the help of the Flyboard he’s been developing for seven years now.

He crossed it within 20 minutes. (OK, he had to stop to refuel halfway and it was only 35km.)
We found it fascinating that he is a former jet-ski champion. Zapata told local media: “Let’s just say that I achieved my dream.”
The big event this week is the annual Diggers & Dealers conference over at Kalgoorlie. Our own Reuben Adams is in attendance and here is his guide about today’s presenters. Many will have dreams of becoming the next producers, others (such as Northern Star) have achieved them.
The ASX Small Ords has lost 1.1 per cent this morning, dropping to 2,907 which is its worst day in nearly two months. The ASX 200 lost 0.85 per cent to 6,711.
It sounds like a broken record to keep crediting the trade war to the share market but things ramped up over the weekend with more tariffs being added. Our trade minister Simon Birmingham thinks these might breach WTO rules.
The Reserve Bank is meeting tomorrow and it’s highly unlikely it will cut rates again but their commentary on the economy is always interesting.

Golden Rim Resources (ASX: GMR) rocketed 82 per cent higher having stumbled across spectacular results in its gold drilling campaign.
