Lunchtime ASX small cap wrap: Who’s reflecting on what might’ve been today?

It’s quarterly season and therefore some shareholders are disappointed that their dreams aren’t happening.

But a handful of designers are doing likewise with an investment that could’ve been made but never was.

Other cities have their own bridges but the Sydney Harbour Bridge is the most iconic in Australia. Or is it? Some designers were invited by Budget Direct to envision what else it could have looked like.

Our favourite is this three-way prong proposed by Francis Stowe who envisioned Goat Island as the centrepiece and an ANZAC Memorial:

Other designs look like the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and Brisbane’s Story Bridge but another is essentially what is today without the arch. Clearly it could be better – but it could be worse.

Yet as we mentioned, much of today’s reflection will be on the ASX with today being the quarterly deadline – or as the Secret Broker calls it, ‘Duck Soup Day’.

The ASX Small Ords is down 0.42 per cent to 2,965 and the ASX 200 lost 0.26 per cent to be 6,827. Today’s biggest economic news was Australian inflation figures – the ABS reported it rose 0.6 per cent in the June quarter and 1.6 per cent in the last 12 months.

Going up

Sezzle (ASX: SEZ) is still running hot today having gained 23 per cent from yesterday’s closing price. Ord Minnett is the lead broker for Sezzle.

TV2U (ASX: TV2) rose 22 per cent after signing a deal with Swiss-registered Jay Plus to be its technology partner. All Jay Plus sports content will be streamed via TV2’s platforms and services.

Blockchain play Tymlex Group (ASX: TYM) lost nearly 30 per cent after cash receipts of just $100,000. It asserted sales “may have been delayed but they are not lost”.
