Here are all the important small cap winners and losers in morning trade, but first – is this the future of dunny tech?

Toilet paper maker Charmin has developed Rollbot, a charming little dude that connects to your phone to deliver emergency toilet paper direct to the throne room:

The Rollbot was unveiled by Charmin at the CES conference in Las Vegas yesterday, alongside the equally important SmellSense which lets you know if the toilet needs extra time to ‘air out’ before entering.

SmellSense gives a ‘no’ or a ‘good to go’ signal based on how much carbon dioxide or hydrogen sulfide it detects in the air. The future is now, people.

Signals are mixed when it comes to global markets. On Monday, European share markets weakened on US-Iran tensions while US shares finished flattish.

But in local markets, both the ASX200 and Small Ords Indexes are running higher in morning trade – up 0.94 per cent and 0.46 per cent respectively at ~12pm AEDT.

Here’s all your key small cap winners and losers in morning trade for Tuesday, January 7:

GOING UP:

Buy now, pay later fintech Sezzle (ASX:SZL) is up +28 per cent in morning trade, recovering some of the week’s hectic losses:

Shares went into freefall on Friday after the California Department of Business Oversight (DBO) decided not to approve the company’s acquisition for a California Financing Law licence to make loans.

Today, the company reported a positive first call with DBO representatives. Based on those discussions, “Sezzle is confident that we have a path to resolution in creating a successful application for a State of California Finance Lender Licence,” chief exec Charlie Youakim says.

And Cann Group’s (ASX:CAN) manufacturer IDT Australia (ASX:IDT), has started making cannabis resin from the company’s plants, and it should be ready for sale by March.

Both companies are up on the news in morning trade.
