Earlier this week, Queen Elizabeth and Donald Trump met for the first time. And overnight, it was Scott Morrison’s turn.
Yes, ScoMo’s in London to visit the Queen. What did he bring? The autobiography of Winx. It was signed by author Andrew Rule as well as Winx’s owners.
OK, the main reason for his visit was to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day and he will meet several world leaders but undoubtedly Her Majesty will be the most important figure he will meet.
Morrison also visited Prince Charles and has spoken to the Australian-UK Chamber of Commerce.
Back to the markets and they’re loving yesterday’s rate cut. Fresh from snapping a four-day losing streak yesterday the ASX Small Ords is up again, by 21 points to 2,771 or 0.75 per cent as of 11.30am.
This followed the US markets’ surge overnight after Jerome Powell hinted America may soon follow our lead.
Neurotech (ASX: NTI) has doubled today. As its name suggests it specialises in neurotechnology and this morning it launched a pilot version of its virtual clinic. Yet in responding to an ASX speeding ticket (Price & Volume query) the company said it did not consider this to be price sensitive.
Chinese tourist focused retailer Mediland Pharm (ASX: MPH) has now doubled since its IPO. It announced yesterday its Auckland store had achieved turnover of $2 million in just 6 weeks.

Dacian Gold (ASX: DCN) fell 62 per cent after a cut in its production guidance from 50-55,000oz to 36-38,000oz. The company blamed poor productivity and the failure of some equipment.
While it’s too big for us, it’s rare and noteworthy when a large cap loses over 10 per cent in a day as Vocus Communications (ASX: VOC) did – 19 per cent to be exact. Why? It announced potential acquirer EQT had walked away from discussions.
