Global stocks are surging again as US-Iran tensions diminish. The ASX Small Ords Index — up 0.24 per cent to 2988.5 points in early trade — is very close to punching through the magical 3000-point mark.

Classic Minerals (ASX:CLZ) +50%
The gold explorer says drilling has recommenced at the Kat Gap project after the program was interrupted by bushfires last month.
Previous drilling by Classic at Kat Gap returned thick, shallow and high-grade gold intercepts including 5m at 14 grams per tonne (g/t), just 17m from surface. Stay tuned folks.
Canada-based lithium play Sayona has been backed from a new US investor “amid an upturn in the lithium sector”.
The $2.75m from New York firm Obsidian Global will support Sayona’s bid for the North American Lithium (NAL) mine and advance its flagship Authier project.
Also up on no news were cancer-focused Genetic Technologies (ASX:GTG) +37.5%, junior coal explorer Prairie Mining (ASX:PDZ) +25%, and aspiring EV battery maker Magnis Energy Technologies (ASX:MNS) +25%.
