It’s been a chaotic morning in Mark Zuckerberg’s world, as both Facebook and Instagram suffered major outages.
But tech news didn’t feature heavily among ASX small caps, where mining and energy stocks were the main movers and shakers.
At 12pm AEST, the ASX Small Ords was up 11.3 points or 0.41 per cent to 2,775.3.
Lithium player Strike Minerals (ASX:SRK) was a big mover, jumping almost 40 per cent to 9 cents.
It follows an announcement yesterday that Strike has acquired a 90 per cent interest in 12,000 hectares of prospective lithium concessions in Argentina.
And Biotech company PharmAust (ASX: PAA) rose by 28 per cent to 4 cents after announcing a successful trial of its anti-cancer treatment for dogs.
Elsewhere, IoT company CCP Technologies (ASX: CT1) jumped by 33 per cent to 1.2 cents a share as the market responded positively to a sales update this morning.

A couple of mining minnows — VDM Group (ASX: VMG) and Auking Mining Ltd (ASX: AKN) led the small caps market lower today.
And oil & gas explorer Red Emperor (ASX: RMP) lost some momentum, after rocketing higher last week following an announcement on its Alaskan drilling operations.
Red Emperor promptly slumped by over 70 per cent yesterday following an update on in WINX drilling program, and slipped by another 24 per cent this morning.
