The big leapers were out in force over the weekend.

The event? This year’s NBA slam-dunk competition, which often headlines the league’s annual All-Star festivities.

While the dunk comp sometimes falls flat, this year’s event turned some heads as two players — Aaron Gordon and Derrick Jones Jr — both engaged in some otherworldly displays of athleticism reminiscent of the popular 90’s video game NBA Jam.

This effort from Gordon probably stole the show:

Gordon followed up by jumping over Tacko Fall, the tallest player in the league at 7’5 (a casual 226cm).

But when it was all said and done, he came off second-best to Jones (who did throw down some huge dunks himself), in a controversial result that many fans felt was akin to daylight robbery.

Turning to markets, and local stocks got off to a sluggish start this week as the ASX200 fell 7,110 into midday trade — a loss of 0.29 per cent. The ASX Small Ords was down 0.17 per cent to 3,052.

Zoono Group (ASX:ZNO)

The New Zealand-based company jumped sharply again after signing a new distribution agreement into China for its sanitisation products. The deal is focused on the childcare and hotel sectors with minimum purchase volumes of $NZ6.8m over the first three years.

Zoono said it has received “unprecedented interest” in its products from the Chinese market since the outbreak of the coronavirus. From their October 2019 levels of seven cents, ZNO shares rose to almost $1.90 today — an eye-watering gain of more than 2,500 per cent.
