GOING UP
Aerial snapper Spookfish (ASX:SFI) jumped 57 per cent after announcing a $122 million takeover offer from US shareholder EagleView Technologies.
The stock jumped from yesterday’s close of 5.1c to match the 8c offer price.
Spookfish (ASX:SFI) listed on the ASX in 2015, raising $5 million at an issue price of 3.5c.
Spookfish’s product suite includes a range of aerial imaging services like SiteView, with key clients those in the government, developer and enterprise spaces.
Directors are recommending shareholders vote in favour of the offer.
“ApplyDirect wins the Department of Defence” trumpeted one ASX announcement today.
Not quite. But the HR software maker did sign a six-month deal to build a new careers computer system for the department.
That was enough to drive ApplyDirect (ASX:AD1) shares up 28 per cent to 5c.
“It is expected that a further agreement will be entered into following this initial contract period, incorporating deeper e-recruitment system integrations,” the company told investors.
Northern Minerals (ASX:NTU) gained 6 per cent after becoming the first producer of Australian heavy rare earths after opening its Browns Range project in Western Australia.
“The opening of the Browns Range heavy rare earths project is nearly eight years in the making, since the initial discovery in 2010,” boss George Bauk said.
“There are not too many times when a managing director can stand up and launch a new industry in Australia and this is what we are doing today. Australia is now a heavy rare earths producer.”
The stock gained 6 per cent to 8.8c in early Friday trade.
Alligator Energy (ASX:AGE) made gains after yesterday releasing the first assay (or lab test) results from sampling at its Piedmont nickel, cobalt and copper project in northern Italy.
Grades ranged up to 2.48% nickel, 0.17% cobalt and 0.98% copper.
“These first assay results have verified that we are looking at significant nickel-cobalt-copper mineralisation within an extensive system,” chief Greg Hall told investors.
The shares moved ahead 11 per cent to 1c. Further testing is to come.
Tando Resources (TNO) also gained 15 per cent after winning mining rights for its vanadium project in South Africa, paving the way for drilling.
Drilling contractors are set to mobilise shortly.
The shares hit an intraday high of 18.5c.

GOING DOWN
Crypto and blockchain consultant DigitalX (ASX:DCC) is starting a crypto TV venture with Coincast Media that will broadcast crypto news — but investors were more focused on the falling price of bitcoin.
DigitalX owned 470 bitcoins at the time of its last quarterly cashflow statement (then worth about $US3.3 million) and its stock price tends to track the rises and falls of the cryptocurrency.
After a run up to almost $US8300 bitcoin dropped 5 per cent overnight.
DCC shares were down 9 per cent to 14.5c in early Friday trade.
On Friday DigitalX told investors its Coincast Media venture would launch a weekly blockchain news show on Sky News, which will also be available via Apple TV and The Wall Street Journal.
DigitalX owns half Coincast and says the operation has generated revenue of $300,000 so far.
