Lunchtime ASX small cap wrap: Who’s defending a delicacy today?
News
We have plenty of treasures in Australia such as Uluru, the Great Barrier Reef…and the baked bean toastie.
But the Brits and the Yanks don’t get it.
For the last two weeks Australian gamer Amber Wadham has copped a Twitter backlash for suggesting it was even a thing. But she’s obviously tough, because overnight she opened another can of worms cookies:

Today, the ASX Small Ords is up 0.29 per cent to 2,889 and the ASX 200 is up 0.41 per cent to 6,705. But both indices will finish the week down by 0.88 per cent and 0.46 per cent respectively.
There was no new economic data today, although Bloomberg released an economists survey, predicting that the Australian economy will expand 2.5 per cent in 2020 and 2.6 per cent in 2021. And importantly, it puts the chance of a recession at only 20 per cent.
Stavely Minerals (ASX: SVY) climbed another 25 per cent today and is now over $1.07 per share. The catalyst was yesterday’s monster copper find.
But the largest one day gainer in 2019 remains Hylea Metals (ASX: HCO), up over 400 per cent on June 24, which today changed its name to Lotus Resources.
And WA gold explorer Lefroy Exploration (ASX: LEX) rose 25 per cent after a big hit at its Lucky Strike project near Kalgoorlie.

Ahead of the GWS Giants’ first AFL Grand Final, various clips of their song have been going viral on Twitter. This one was this author’s favourite because it just ‘fits’ the tune – at least for the first few seconds.
Is #bigbigsound over yet? Room for one more? 'Cause this one works ridiculously well. #Shipoopi #AFLFinals #AFLTigersGiants pic.twitter.com/mrKrJtfLiq

It’s also more evidence of this authors’ theory that Hawthorn have a higher than normal portion of bandwagon jumpers. But they could’ve done worse.
