Lunchtime ASX small cap wrap: Who’s cooking up a monstrosity today?
News
News
Turducken – a chicken stuffed into a duck stuffed into a turkey. Monstrous.
But if you thought that was extravagant enough, Aussie seafood chef Josh Niland is releasing a cookbook next month where he has 60 fish recipes. One of which is ‘fish turducken’.
Yellowfin tuna loin, wrapped in a cod fillet, wrapped in a large ocean trout fillet. If you want to cook it, it will take brining and smoking well ahead of time.
Even more hideous, you can serve it chilled if you’re too exhausted to heat it. Chocks away:
I don't think the fish turducken came out quite right y'all.https://t.co/AWI7hYjkhN pic.twitter.com/lmk0VadoCe

Niland himself observed this attempt by Bloomberg reporter Kate Krader and spotted a few errors (Niland’s is on the left btw). It seems its a recipe only the best chefs can pull off.
But if your guests have never heard of it – you could disguise it.
After yesterday’s rebound our markets are more subdued today. The ASX Small Ords is up 0.1 per cent to 2,823 while the ASX 200 is down 0.16 per cent to 6,509. But both have lost 4 per cent this week after Monday and Tuesday’s falls.
While Wall Street was similarly subdued, one interesting news item this week (other than the trade war) has been Uber and Lyft’s results. Lyft was better than expected but it’s still losing money and share lock-ups are expiring sooner than initially anticipated.
Uber are releasing tomorrow and both admitted this week they are making congestion in major cities worse (but don’t despair – flying cars). Also, New York City extended its 12 month cap on new Uber/Lyft vehicles being permitted to operate.
Remember Rural Funds Group (ASX: RF1) that was accused of cooking its books by a short-seller? Investors responded well to its comeback and it’s up 28 per cent today.
Oil explorer Otto Energy (ASX: OEL) hit paydirt at the Gulf of Mexico and it’s up 16 per cent.
