Global markets fell after US President Donald Trump announced that a planned meeting with the Chinese government to nut out a trade deal probably won’t happen before the March 1 deadline.
In response, the ASX Small Ords — the benchmark for Australian small cap performance — softened 0.61 per cent to 2,658.30 around 12pm AEST.
Still looking pretty good though.
Here are the key ASX small cap winners and losers at lunch Thursday February 7:
Titomic (ASX:TTT), has made a deal with the CSIRO which gives it exclusive global rights to two patents for the production of metal pipes.
Sounds boring, but it’s not.
The patents will give Titomic more opportunity to leverage its manufacturing tech, which includes the world’s biggest 3D printer.
This 3D printer is impressive — it can whip up a metal bike frame in 25 minutes.
Following the announcement, shares in Titomic are up more than seven per cent in early trade at $2.22.
This GIF shows the machine printing the “C” in a metal “Titomic” sign:
Yesterday, Focus Minerals (ASX:FML) fessed up to an old accounting error; it forgot to write off some assets in 2017 that were no longer in use.
But today, the Western Australian gold explorer caught a rocket for some reason, up about 30 per cent to 33.5c.
