When you think of snorkelling its a fine hobby done on hot days in calm, clear water.
In Wales however (at least over the weekend), it was a competitive sport in murky water. Yes it was that time of year again – the World Bog Snorkelling Championship.
Named one of the top 50 must do events in the world by Lonely Planet, competitors (some in fancy costumes) swam two straight lengths of a murky bog out of the UK’s smallest town, Llanwrtyd Wells.

Yes, its another poor day on markets and analysts are blaming the trade war. And its not just Trump tweets, China’s Global Times editor said the nation is “seriously making preparations” for ties with the US to worsen.
Markets got a little more than they wanted out of Jackson Hole. They heard low interest rates were here to stay, but as Phillip Lowe said, these can only do so much. “Political shocks are turning into economic shocks,” he said. “Monetary policy cannot deliver medium term economic growth.”
The ASX Small Ords is down 1.15 per cent to 2,781 points and the ASX 200 is down 1.5 per cent to 6,425 points. Of Asia’s 18 major markets only three are in the green – the best being Thailand; and the worst is Hong Kong, which is down 3.2 per cent.
Going up
Byron Energy (ASX:BYE) climbed 23 per cent after stumbling across hydrocarbons at its latest well.
Smart Parking (ASX:SPZ) initially dropped due to a poor annual result but bounced back to be 35 per cent higher after announcing it had received multiple takeover offers. But so far its accepted none of them, making it clear any suitor would have to pay a premium.
