Some internet memes come and go in weeks, like the Harlem Shake and the Ice Bucket Challenge, but others last for years.

The Nek Minnit video is one of them. The original video, led to thousands of parodies or just utilisation of the original catch phase in other contexts.

Well this week, the Kiwi behind this gave a fascinating interview about the impact it’s had on his life. He has also released a short film about his life.

The ASX Small Ords is up 0.43 per cent to 2,896 points while the ASX 200 is up 0.57 per cent to 6,776 points.

The Melbourne Institute released its monthly consumer inflation expectations. In September it is 3.1 per cent, down from 3.5 per cent last month.

Going up

Today’s winners showed the wonders of what a giant can do for a minnow.

YPB (ASX:YPB) declared it had made a world first achievement in the development of its authentication mark technology. It’s up 30 per cent.

Strategic Elements (ASX:SOR) has climbed as well. The catalyst was an agreement with Fortune 100 software company Honeywell to build autonomous robotic vehicles.
