Large and small caps both finished down today, with tech the biggest laggard.

The ASX Emerging Companies Index fell 1.47 per cent to 2,064.5 points, the ASX Small Ords fell 0.52 per cent to 3,163.3 and the ASX 200 lost 0.90 per cent, falling to 6,777.8.

The only green sectors were consumer staples and utilities while tech stocks fell by nearly 2.7 per cent.

Resources by 2.2 per cent despite providing two of the ASX’s biggest winners today in Venturex Resources (ASX:VXR),which rose thanks to a major fundraising package spearheaded by Northern Star (ASX:NST) boss Bill Beament, and gold-copper explorer Carawine Resources (ASX:CWX) which climbed after exploration results.

Recently listed gold & copper stock Torrens Mining (ASX:TRN) announced it had begun pre-drilling exploration at its Mt Piper project in Victoria.

Recce Pharmaceuticals (ASX:RCE) has applied to dual-list on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The company says it will have exposure to a larger base of investors and will it not require a capital raising to occur.

ImpediMed (ASX:IPD), which received US$1,140,202 under the CARES Act in America, has told shareholders its debt has been forgiven in full.

Myanmar Metals (ASX:MYL) gave shareholders an update about the situation in Myanmar. The company announced cost cutting measures but has said it was confident in the future of Myanmar’s resources sector.

Osprey (ASX:OSP) announced it has raised A$14.5 million from the latest exercise of options by high profile investors Brandon Capital and Allan Gray and an underwriting agreement from Statewide Super and HostPlus.

Speaking with Stockhead Osprey CEO Mike McCormick said he was very pleased investors had continued to support the company.

“These proceeds will go towards funding the ongoing commercial growth of Osprey, including supporting GE Healthcare’s launch of the DyeVert technology in Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Canada and the UK,” he said.

Osprey recently implemented a US sales expansion with the addition of more Independent Sales Agents (ISAs), adding coverage in up to 14 additional US States not currently covered by Osprey’s direct sales force.
