Top of the charts today was small cap Larvotto Resources (ASX:LRV), which drilled into super high grade clay rare earths up to 1.26% (12,611ppm) at the Merivale South prospect, part of the Eyre lithium-nickel-REE project in WA.
The company says the mineralisation may be hosted within ionic clays, making it suitable for simple, cost-effective extraction.
Testwork to confirm this theory is currently underway, but if there is an ionic component the reported grades are very high compared to known deposits, which usually grade between 700ppm and 1500ppm.
Results from the all-important met testwork – which will indicate whether a portion of the mineralisation is ionic (aka can be mined and processed economically) – will inform the next phase of exploration.
Hot on its heels was OD6 Metals (ASX:OD6) who are consistently hitting high grades up to 6605ppm “with extensive clay thickness of between 20 and 80m” at the Splinter Rock project.
“These exceptional drill results represent some of the highest rare earth grades, over some of the thickest intersections seen in an Australian clay-hosted rare earth project,” OD6 MD Brett Hazelden says.
“With thicknesses of 20m to 80m, grades in excess of 1,000ppm Total Rare Earths, and consistency across several kilometres of width, the Splinter Rock project has emerged as a globally significant discovery.”
Discovery Alaska (ASX:DAF) is branching into Canada, with exclusive rights to buy three early stage lithium projects in the popular James Bay jurisdiction of Quebec: Mia Adjacent, Lac C and Corvette East.
The nearology is strong with this one. Lac C is a stone’s throw from Winsome Resources’ (ASX:WR1) Cancet project, while Corvette East 18km from Patriot Battery Metals’ (ASX:PMT) Corvette flagship.
DAF now has 75 days to conduct due diligence on the projects before choosing to buy or not.
Jumping on the clay-hosted REE bandwagon is Venture Minerals (ASX:VMS), picking up a 511km2 tenement package called the ‘Brothers’ project which is adjacent to its Vulcan Prospect, host to recently announced very high grade REE results ranging up to 125,165 ppm (12.5%) TREO.
The company also acquired a 809km2 tenement package, known as the ‘Bandy’ Project, which hosts combined REE laterite results up to 2,704 ppm from the same State Government dataset.
Neuren Pharma (ASX:NEU) announced that DAYBUE (trofinetide) is now officially available for the treatment of Rett syndrome in adult and children (2 years of age and older) in the United States – and is the first and only drug approved for the disease by the FDA.
The company and its North American partner Acadia have an exclusive licence agreement for Acadia to develop and commercialise the drug in North America and as part of that agreement, US$40 million is payable to Neuren following the first commercial sale in the US.
And iTech Minerals (ASX:ITM) has flagged that high-grade graphite mineralisation extends well into the southern half of the 4.3km long exploration target at its Sugarloaf prospect.
