Top gun today is Omega Oil and Gas (ASX:OMA) who reported “outstanding exploration success” at the Canyon-2 well, where drilling has intersected 293m of gas shows within the Kianga Formation and upper Back Creek Group.
“Encouraging gas shows continued into the upper Back Creek Group, therefore a decision was made to deepen the TD of the well to drill through the upper Back Creek Group,” the company says.
The upper Back Creek Group was intersected at a depth of 3588m, and is now a “potential additional reservoir, with significant gas peaks being recorded while drilling over an interval of 72m.”
Business software developer Prophecy International (ASX:PRO) announced a business growth update, highlighting that its base of Annualised Recurring Revenue (ARR) has grown to $21.3m, an increase of 16% from the end of FY22 as of 31 March 2023.
The company puts this down to subscriptions from its Snare product, which is designed to enable customers to detect and manage cyber threats in real time with Government customers – particularly in the USA and in the UK – continuing to select perpetual license models.
Caravel Minerals (ASX:CVV) has delivered a raft of improvements to its PFS on its copper development of the same name just 150km from Perth in WA’s Wheatbelt, taking the net present value of Australia’s next major copper mine to over $2 billion.
For context, the project will be comparable in annual copper output to mines like BHP takeover target OZ Minerals’ Prominent Hill and Carrapateena, and Sandfire Resources’ recently shut DeGrussa, with the update increasing steady state copper output from 60,000tpa to 65,000tpa over a 26 year project life.
At current copper prices in excess of US$4/lb, that would generate a nice, strong margin.
Metro Mining (ASX:MMI) announced today that 2023 production of bauxite commenced on 1 April from its Bauxite Hills Mine in WA – bauxite being the ore from which aluminium is extracted.
The company said it can sell every tonne it produces in this current tight market, and is pushing for increased prices which represent fair value for its refinery customers versus competitive material from Australia and Guinea.
And Future Battery Minerals (ASX:FBM) says it has unearthed a new lithium discovery in Nevada, where drilling pulled up a highlight 29m @ 1,010ppm Li from a depth of 210.3m.
A Phase 2 RC drilling program is now in the works.
