Early movers including Red Sky Energy (ASX:ROG) and Crown Resorts (ASX:CWN) held their gains to close higher.

But among stocks with announcements, the daily winner was junior explorer QEM Ltd (QEM).

Shares in QEM have been on a huge rally since the company announced its was exploring opportunities in green hydrogen at its Julia Creek vanadium and oil project in Queensland.
