Small cap winners based on market-moving announcements were relatively few and far between by recent standards, as only four stocks jumped higher following new updates.

Leading the pack was Black Canyon (ASX:BCA), which made the latest successful debut on the ASX boards when it listed at 12pm.

The junior explorer raised $5m at 20c per share and closed at 30c, marking a gain for pre-IPO investors of 50 per cent.

BCA will explore manganese, copper and cobalt targets located in WA’s Pilbara region.
