ASX Small Cap Lunchtime Wrap: Who’s losing faith today?

A thrash metal musician doesn’t think Satan is “quite as cool as I used to” after meeting the Dark Lord during a hallucination-filled COVID-19 coma.
Metal band Death Angel was flying back to the US from a cancelled European tour when drummer Will Carroll started showing COVID-19 symptoms.
After testing positive, he spent 12 days in a medically induced coma. During this time he experienced some pretty disturbing visions which made him re-evaluate his love of Satan.
GQ calls it “visions of a Dante-like trip to Hell”. Carroll says he will still listen to satanic metal, but “I don’t think Satan’s quite as cool as I used to”. That’s why they say ‘never meet your heroes’.
Minutes from the latest US Fed Reserve meeting have emphasised that it will continue to do “whatever it takes” to “mitigate the damage to the economy” from the virus and support a robust recovery.
“The Fed’s baseline forecast is for a rapid rebound in GDP growth and large decline in the unemployment rate in H2 as economies and businesses start to reopen,” Kathy Bostjancic, chief US financial economist at Oxford Economics, says.
“That said, a complete recovery in the level of activity was not expected by year-end.”
US and European share markets closed firmer on Wednesday. The ASX continues its steady (ish) recovery from that late March crash in morning trade, up 0.31 per cent to 5,590.1 points by 11:30am EST.

DroneShield’s (ASX:DRO) DroneGun has been selected as the “preferred solution” by European Union police forces after a competitive tender, the company said today.
DroneGun is expected to be rolled out across a range of police units across European Union.
The agreement does not specify minimum purchase quantities, DroneShield says, but the company expects this deal to produce “material periodic sales over an extended period of time, with orders commencing this quarter”.
The stock was up +60 per cent in morning trade.
Building contractor NRW Holdings (ASX:NWH) posted record revenue of $1.6bn, and EBITDA of $177m in the 10 months to April.
The outlook is also good.
“Bidding activity is high and following the BGC acquisition the pipeline continues to improve given the likely acceleration of public infrastructure projects”, the company says.
WA gold explorer Metalicity (ASX:MCT) was also up 33 per cent after its entitlement offer and placement closed oversubscribed.
