The third positive vaccine development in two weeks has sent markets soaring.

AstraZeneca says analysis of clinical trials shows its coronavirus vaccine had up to 90 per cent efficacy — lower than peers Pfizer (95 per cent) and Moderna (94.5 per cent) – in protecting against the virus.

While AstraZeneca’s shares fell 3.8 per cent as traders took into account its lower effectiveness, the news sent global oil prices to their highest level in 12 weeks.

Meanwhile meme stock Tesla surged closer toward US$500 billion ($686 billion) market cap ahead of its addition in the S&P 500 index next month.

The Aussie share market is now up 11.8 per cent in November, Commsec says, which keeps it on track to have its best month in 32 years.

In early trade Tuesday the bourse was also just ~0.8 per cent away from turning positive in 2020. Incredible stuff.

Tech company DigitalX (ASX:DCC) came out of a trading halt to climb to 12c at the opening bell, a gain of ~25 per cent.

That marks a gain of 6x since the start of the 2021 financial year, after the stock opened on July 1 at 2c.

A number of stocks are still basking in the glow of some solid Monday news flow.

Cancer finder Imagion Biosystems (ASX:IBX) announced a “heavily oversubscribed”  $6m placement yesterday at a measly 6 per cent discount to the 30 day volume weighted average price (VWAP).

Cannabis stock Cann Group (ASX:CAN) is still flying after scoring a $50m debt facility from NAB (ASX:NAB).

The cash will be used to complete Stage 1 construction of its production facility near Mildura.

And Sydney biotech Imugene (ASX:IMU) is up another 13 per cent after yesterday announcing its HER-Vaxx drug candidate appears to lengthen the life of patients with advanced gastric cancer.
