A recent 2.3 tonne methamphetamine seizure is the biggest domestic drug haul in US Drug Enforcement Administration history.
“These two seizures are more than enough to provide a dose of meth for every man, woman and child in the United States and Mexico,” said DEA Acting Administrator Timothy J. Shea.
A very generous offer in these trying times.
On Thursday, European share markets fell sharply as surging COVID-19 infections prompted France to declare a public health state of emergency and the UK to impose tighter restrictions.
Wall Street dropped as the number of Americans filing new claims for jobless benefits rose to a two-month high last week, “stoking fears the COVID-19 pandemic was inflicting lasting damage to the labour market”, Morningstar says.
The ASX 200 is slightly softer on Friday, drifting lower by 9pts to 6,200.5. Health and mining stocks are weighing most while banks and energy are among the most improved, Commsec says.
