ASX Small Cap Lunch Wrap: Who’s gone cold turkey today?
News
In June, ‘Gerald the Aggressive Turkey’ forced officials to close a local Californian park.
But finally, after five months of attacking local residents, Gerald was bagged by a wildlife capture expert posing as a frail, old woman – Gerald’s preferred victim.
“I swear I was getting flashbacks to the velociraptor scenes in ‘Jurassic Park’ as he was ‘cooing’ at me, sizing me up,” read one victim statement.
Others describe Gerald clawing and pecking relentlessly as they tried to run away.
Clever girl boy.
Who else has gone cold turkey today? (We’re looking at you, BNPL debutante Zebit.)
European share markets rose on Friday, while Wall Street closed mixed as investors continued to monitor developments in talks over a stimulus package and the upcoming election.
The Victorian premier has postponed significant changes to the state’s COVID-19 restrictions after a cluster of positive cases in Melbourne’s north led to around 1000 tests, which are still being processed.
“This is not anything other than a cautious pause,” Daniel Andrews says.
A loosening of restrictions is still expected to come into effect by midnight on Wednesday.
The ASX is green today, with the benchmark ASX200 index up 0.28 per cent – or 17 points – to 6,184 points by midday.
