ASX Small Cap Lunch Wrap: Who’s found a glitch in the supply chain today?

With COVID-19 confining most consumers to their houses, buying stuff online has been the only option available for many folks.
Almost inevitably, that’s resulted in a few delays and logistics mishaps as companies try and respond to the shift in demand.
But if you’re still waiting on a set of fishing rods or a BBQ that you ordered in March, spare a thought for this online shopper from Canada.
Earlier this month, Toronto-based Elliot Berinstein unwrapped a delivery at his front door — a tube of Brylcream that he first ordered in…2012.
Eight years later, Canada Post had managed to find the right address and delivered the hair product to its rightful owner.
Was it still usable after all that time? Bernstein said a quick Google search indicated the cream was supposed to be a whitish colour. But after almost 3,000 days in a box, the contents of the tube had taken on more of a bright yellow hue…so he binned it.
Elsewhere, cargo has started washing up on the NSW coast, after Singapore-based cargo ship APL England lost 40 containers off its deck in rough seas on Sunday.
On markets, the ASX200 opened the day more than 1 per cent lower despite a strong lead from Wall Street overnight.
But the index has rallied off the mat into midday trade, down just 0.1 per cent slightly before midday EST. The Small Ords index fell more heavily, but had also gained back some ground to sit 0.4 per cent lower.

National Tyre & Wheel (ASX:NTD) also found demand following a trading update, in which it said results in April and May had “exceeded expectations and volatility has diminished, to the extent that shorter term predictions can be made with reasonable certainty”.
The company flagged a core earnings projection of $8.9m to $9.3m for FY20, with “Q1 of FY21 expected to be consistent with this trajectory”.
