A ‘weapon amnesty’ aims to reduce the number of illegal weapons by allowing people to hand them over without fear of prosecution.

But Czech police were reportedly left stunned this month after a local man surrendered a pink Soviet T-34 tank and a self-propelled gun as part of a country-wide amnesty.

“When we filmed a video on gun amnesty and said with exaggeration that [we will accept even a] tank, we didn’t expect it to inspire the people [to do so],” the police said on its Facebook page.

And reddit darling GameStop (NYSE:GME) jumped 6.3 per cent after CEO George Sherman announced plans to resign in the coming months. Since that hectic spike late January, the stock has steadied to be up ~820% year to date.

The Aussie bourse has followed Wall Street’s lead in morning trade, with the benchmark ASX200 index dipping below the 7,000 point mark to 6,913.8 points by 12pm Eastern time.

And agricultural supply chain manager Wingara (ASX:WNR) has appointed James Whiteside as CEO.

Whiteside is well known within the agricultural sector, says Wingara, having previously been boss of Australia’s major horticultural body AUSVEG, and prior to that spending nine years in the executive team at Incitec Pivot.
