ASX lunchtime small cap wrap: Who wants to go walking on the moon today?

This month marks the 50th Anniversary of NASA’s Apollo 11 moon landing. There are several things being done to commemorate the event.
NASA has restored the original mission control room to its former glory. And the original tapes, which NASA unbelievably sold to an intern without realising what they were, are going to auction.
For those of you who thought of the Police song when you saw the header, don’t worry. You have not been forgotten. Unfortunately they won’t be getting back together to perform for the occasion, but Duran Duran will be.
Not even the big banks have enough money to walk on the moon. But perhaps management and shareholders may look at the moon and dream of what could be.
A more realistic dream to have is a rate cut (unless you’re a major bank and its a nightmare – either pass it on and see your shareholders revolt and don’t and see social media revolt). It seems we will get another cut at 2.30pm today.
The ASX Small Ords is up again today, by 12 points to 2,859 points (or by 0.42 per cent). It has risen 3.67 per cent since the last cut. The ASX 200 is up as well, by 0.3 per cent, but all four major banks are down today.
Today’s biggest winner was NeuroScientific Biopharmaceuticals (ASX:NSB), which has more than doubled – up 106 per cent. The reason? It reported the results of a study that endorsed its therapy to treat Alzheimer’s.
Northern Cobalt (ASX:N27) announced strong vanadium and iron ore drilling results yesterday morning but it seems only today investors have taken note.

A year ago communications provider SpeedCast (ASX:SDA) was a large cap but now its well and truly a small cap after its latest drop thanks to another profit downgrade.
Recently relisted Ora Brada Mining (ASX:OBM) has fallen as well. While it’s too late to claim a tax loss for last financial year, it’s no longer too early to start counting for the next one.
Remember Hylea Metals (ASX:HCO), which shot up over 400 per cent after announcing it would buy a uranium project? Well there’s been no news this last week and today the stock is down over 12 per cent.
