Today investors woke to the news gold had surpassed US$2,000. On the ASX 581 stocks gained, 419 were down and 1098 were unchanged.
Among stocks that had news today, gold explorer Dreadnought Resources (ASX:DRE) rose after a capital raising which will facilitate a new drilling campaign.
Meanwhile, food stock Maggie Beer (ASX:MBH) announced it was getting into plant based foods.
Queensland energy retailer Locality Planning Energy (ASX:LPE) also announced a capital raising, but declined.
