- Jade Spooner has been appointed Thrive Tribe CEO after founding and building an eight-figure company
- Forbes 30 under 30 inclusion brings record of strategy, leadership, and revenue
- Kumu platform prepped for growth into a fast-growing creator economy
Special Report: As it shoots for rapid commercialisation, Thrive Tribe Technologies appoints a new CEO – Jade Spooner – who comes with an impressive CV.
Jade Spooner joins the company with a history of turning health tech companies with lesser means than Thrive Tribe Technologies (ASX:1TT) into much bigger entities.
The Forbes 30 under 30 recipient was recognised for co-founding and turning nutritional brand Equalution into a multi-million health business after leaving a corporate speciality IT gig at Google.
Her achievements at Equalution include recognition by Deloitte as part of its fastest-growing tech companies, startup of the year, and more recently a finalist for Commbank’s Young Hero Awards.
But with her former company rebranded after an eight-figure valuation and now in the hands of private equity, after advising for start ups and growth companies since 2021 she has now found a fitting opportunity as the 1TT chief executive officer.
Grabbing an ‘obvious opportunity’
The new CEO stated that she accepted the role because she sees great potential in the company, recognising that it has all the essential foundations and vision needed for long-term success and growth.
“I see huge potential in the Kumu platform within the growing creator economy and am deeply aligned with 1TT’s vision to empower creator-led businesses to thrive and scale. Partnering with content creators, influencers, founders, and growth companies dedicated to driving positive impact is an opportunity I am passionate about.” Spooner said.
“Based on my experience, I see an obvious opportunity to take what 1TT has built so far to formally launch and rapidly grow Kumu.”
1TT executive director Wes Culley said the company had invested millions of dollars in the platform and its e-commerce marketplace and was now at a crucial point for rapid commercialisation.
“The company has conducted an extensive recruitment process and selected Jade due to her incredible energy and proven track record taking lesser resourced businesses than 1TT and rapidly growing their tech platforms to eight-figure businesses,” Culley said.
“In addition to her proven leadership when it comes to revenue growth, we are inspired by her vision to be a leader for our content creators.”
Culley added that 1TT sees huge potential in the e-commerce space with the development work it’s conducting on the e-commerce marketplace and payment gateway.
“Jade is the leader we need to bring everything we have together and take the group to the next phase of our growth in order to fully realise the group’s potential for shareholders and users,” he said.
Looking ahead
1TT soft-launched the two-sided health content platform between creators and members last year after a successful beta run into a creator economy that Goldman Sachs believes could be worth US$480 billion by 2027.
But with Spooner and her marketing and e-commerce experience now on deck, the company is steering towards a hard launch and aggressive growth.
The company sees potential use across multiple sectors for the software platform, and Spooner is set to get hands on in acquiring and mentoring creators, influencers, celebrities and ambassadors.
